Well, the chip game has been part of this group for quite a number of seasons. So I don't think there's any problem with that as it provides another aspect on the game and trying to figure things out. Yes, there have been a number of spoilers that some people know of but as far as I know the next half of the game is fairly unspoiled so that should make the game more interesting.
It takes a lot of work to run the game and I appreciate what D-W does. I think the only real problem for most came up when D-W posted a bunch of separate threads giving the people opportunity to win extra chips in the game. I suspect there wouldn't have been any complaints about the posts had he made one thread and just posted each of the opportunities under that thread as new sub-threads.
>I'd rather hear about the show itself, and the actions of the players.
Unfortunately this season the only people that are regularly talking about the players and what they are doing ARE the people playing in the chip game. The rest of the regular posters are turning into very irregular posters for some reason. It might be because of Russell or the way the season is edited around him or perhaps Survivor is boring them after 19 seasons.
"Well, Doob, I know you to be a peace-loving liberal hippie love everyone warm fuzzy kind of guy, but any time you let anyone else control your actions, you are giving up some of your own personal freedom. "
They USED to be warm and fuzzy...but NOW...everyone shaves or gets a wax.

I see a new Mrs C in the making.. ;)
The only reason I'm ahead of you is because of that one bet you missed on Liz. Of course the only reason you and Mrs C were so far ahead of me was due to one bet I missed early on in the season. Any time there are bets that can return twenty to one or better it can really change your status in the game if you get it right.

So where does one go to find the latest and greatest spoilers on the game? I've read a fair bit of sucks and have seen lots of references to them but no real detail.

I prefer Monica or Natalie to Kelly truth be told but won't put him down for preferring a different hottie!

I never did get an answer from anybody who could tell me which tribe first wore green buffs (without looking it up)
So - what is the consensus - is Ulong the worst excuse for a tribe ever or is Foa Foa giving them a serious run for it?

Mostly you can just read the posts from Mrs. C. I kid I kid.. Okay, not totally. She really has posted spoilers for most of this season in this group, but most of the time they've been properly labeled as a spoiler so no one has to read them that doesn't want to.

I've never been bothered by the chip game in previous seasons, I haven't been interested in taking part but it's been easy to just bypass the couple of threads it used each week. This year it seems that the chip game's structure was much more free-wheeling, which has lead to it flopping about all over the place. It seems like it has encouraged a general decrease in the quality of the discussion this season.
There used to be only one Bob Wald, but there now appears to be two or three extras who are just interested in disrupting every conversation with inane nattering.
That's what it looks like from my screen. Personally I've seen a number of topics that would be interested in discussing but then the "Bob Wald" wannabes jump in and after reading a bunch of inane posts one after the other I just kill the whole thread.

I'm sticking with Ulong being the worst. At least with Foa Foa we've seen them manage to win some challenges and come very close to winning many of the challenges. If they had voted off a few different people in the first few weeks they might have done much better as a tribe in the challenges. Unfortunately it also means Russell Hantz might have been voted out by now so that obviously couldn't be allowed by the powers that be. (Cue the black helicopters. ;) )

What you just said is apples and oranges.Just because someone is easy going doesn't mean that they change their mind on whim.Just because someone is a hard ass doesn't mean they change their mind to be contrary..right?
For example if you met a man that you thought was pretty cool, invited him to bbq's etc. Then, you found out that he was a confirmed admitted pedophile.Would you change your mind about that person? I would hope you would.Would you change your mind because it was politically correct or change your mind because he is a despicable human? Would you be giving up your personal freedom because you decided not to like him after all?
I know,it is a pretty drastic example. But,it was what i was thinking at the time and I have personal freedom and all that :-)
Y'all have a great evening.Russell should have kept his goods in his pants :-)

LOL.. Well, that's about the best you can hope for in an unmoderated group.

"Most of the time", doesn't cut it! *****
It probably was all of the time. I know the stuff I read about S20 I did so knowing it was spoiler info. I've skipped over at least 95% of the spoilers for this season so the season hasn't been ruined for me because of them. The season has been a disappointment thus far because either the editing is making it seem like Russell is the only one playing the game or the rest of them are among the worst players ever, especially considering how many past seasons they had to study. I'd say in just about any other season Jaison would have been long gone given his performance and attitude so far.

There is a website survivorsucks.com or at least there used to be. Joker's posts articles about Survivor and I believe they have some discussion forums but it's nothing like what they do for BB.

ULong never won a single immunity challenge, and I'm not sure if they won any reward challenges. Foa Foa won one immunity challenge. Ulong is the worse tribe.

I've been quite enjoying the season so far. White Russell has been a hoot. Add in Shamboo, Yams, Erik and other the other assorted nutjobs and it's been pure entertainment.
It may be all in the editing but it sure looks like White Russell is the only one on Foa Foa who is scheming and plotting. We haven't seen that much of Glau because Foa Foa kept losing everything, but now that they are merged we see that the members of Glau are pretty much as incompetent as White Russell thinks they are. The four members of Foa Foa should be easy boots for them, then Shamboo goes before they have to start "eating their own" -- but after the first individual immunity challenge Foa Foa and Shamboo are even in the firing line, let alone targets.

I stopped reading this NG during the last BB season, because their were threads about season 20 that weren't marked spoilers, but were getting very close to reviling spoilers in the threads.
There HAVE been spoilers posted for season 19 WITHOUT spoiler warnings.
This isn't BB, where you can watch it online. I expect spoilers there, that is why I stay out of the BB group on days when spoilers could be posted.
I guess since Mr Cleanmyass somehow has some inside info, it gives him a hardon to spoil things for others. Mr Cleanmyass, is a inconsiderate prick, period!
BTW, you do a great job in the BB group of NOT purposely posting spoilers. Thanks for that!

I was basically saying the season has been a disappointment from a game playing standpoint. I agree with you that the level of incompetence shown by most of them and how clued out a few in particular have been has been entertaining. If the rest of the season plays out like the first half has so far the best part could very well be the reunion show. Probst will need a solid two hours just to ask these people what in the hell they were thinking when playing the game. Even though she was an early boot, Yasmin deserves a full five minute segment so she can explain what she was trying to accomplish by trashing the opposing tribe while there for a "visit."

No problem. I know that with BB that some people want all the info they can get as soon as it happens and that others just want the TV episodes experience. Putting in "Spoiler" or "Possible Spoiler" into a header isn't really that hard as far as I'm concerned and that way nearly everyone is happy. Of course they'll be the usual bitching about what is and isn't a spoiler but I prefer to play it on the safe side for the sake of those that don't want to know anything until an episode airs.

One goes to the 'House of Spoilers'...6475 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago.
BBQ chicken, BBQ fish...mention my name for a free surprise.
It's sad...and it's not like BB...but if you want to know the winner...write me.
It stinks that I know.

I respect Kenny and enjoy his perspective on things.
I never like to 'disrupt' threads...and try not to.
I'll add stuff in other places, cuz after all, Perfesser Wald DOES have some graduates.
