Heck achieving a million "net worth" is no great accomplishment. Given my what the provincial assessment authority says my house is worth (at least for tax purposes) and RRSP (what you 'Mericans would call a 401 plan) I'm most of the way there now.
Which is not to say I have even 1/10 of that in liquid capital even if I liquidated the kids' education funds!
"Wealth" doesn't start until the $5-10 million personal net worth catagory - we're doing a bit better than surviving from paycheck to paycheck but if you could see my den ... well it's nicer than the den in Russell's pictures but I've got a long way to go to get even to JP's level.
(Who I would assume has a nice apartment but an even nicer bank account given what he is reputed to make per season with lower than usual living expenses due to having been out of the country at least half the year since 2000 - that tends to encourage saving particularly with no wife and kids to provide for!)

I am a millionaire and I live in a small house that you'd assume a welfare recipiant lived there until you walked inside and saw about 100 grand worth of electronics. Some millionaires don't flaunt their money, hell I drive a 2003 truck.

Most topics have been used in humor. The Holocaust (you DO believe that it happened, right?)...death, race and stereotypes.
When an old 80 year old comic...(not many left)...but let's say Don Rickles...is onstage...and a beautiful 22 year old girl comes out as part of the show...and he sez: 'Want some candy little girl?'...it gets a laugh (well maybe not if you're Amish or a Mormon).
Everyone knows what it refers to...but people don't over react.
It's the same with 14 year old bride and grooms who live in the south...or incest stereotypes...they're JOKES!
(And, btw, it's interesting that you focused on 'child molester'...and not 'incest'.)
I am quite comfortable about how I perceive others, and my morals allow me to rest easy.
Geez...you want to cut out all 'priest' jokes TOO?

Just a guess here, but maybe "incest" wasn't mentioned because you at least had the decency to say - if they had not been related-- yadda yadda yadda.
Also, not all those guilty of incestuous relationships warrant the title of being a ~>child<~ molester. When it comes to kids being sexually violated by some creepy adult, those creeps ARE ~>child molesters<~ whether they are related to the child or not.
Your reply was weak to deflect like that. I don't like Russell one little bit but you already know that I was very disturbed by your remarks too. Not only because that man has never done a damn thing to suggest that he would ever take advantage of any child in a sexual way... but mostly because that little girl didn't deserve for her daddy to has such vile comments made about him merely because of the tactics used in playing some tv game.
Pity that you didn't reply in a public forum the same way that you had to me in email. I had actually appreciated that reply and thought that you had class to admit that was wrong and apologize. Now I think it was probably just a bunch of hot air or there wouldn't be such a drastic difference between what you said then and what you said here.
Bottom line... your comments WHERE extreme, a hit below the belt and unjustified.

Well...let me say this about that...I don't dislike Russell all that much. Most of what I say is in jest.
His constant berating of women...and branding them as stupid...doesn't help his case about raising daughters with proper values and self-respect.
I DID write and tell you that incest isn't funny...and that it's a serious problem that maybe shouldn't be joked about. I apologized for offending you. You are free to post everything, as I stand by what I say.
However...if you appreciated it so much...why the silence?
I asked that you reply to ME...not a post in the GROUP.
"I" post in the group and it may be ignored.
Again, I'm comfortable with MY class...but find it interesting that you couldn't find the intestinal fortitude to write me BACK...as I had requested...so we could exchange ideas.
But no...you could not.
I know, I know...deflecting.
I've had psych training as well and 'failing to respond'...speaks a lot louder than what you call deflecting.
I'm not angry in the least and STILL invite your e-mails...(which you said was sent in error.)
To miss Russell's horrid mindset towards women, which he shows in every diary clip and discussion with MEN, and to ignore the stereotype of the 'hillbilly' that we have been joking about since day ONE...makes me wonder about your agenda.
Again I'll say that incest is not funny...so then maybe we can agree that he is just a pig as far as women are concerned, a liar, and a stereotypical southern guy.
Other than that...I find him amusing...he treats women with respect to their faces, and pleads the case for his honesty very well.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair. He has said that Laura is intelligent and seems to respect her game. He even said the same about Liz but felt he needed to get rid of her because she was a threat to him. His 'dumbass girls alliance' formed because the women in that alliance believed his lies and have proved fairly easy to manipulate for him. So while it's not a nice thing to he's got a reason for calling them stupid, in the game sense, since he's done a lot and none of them have caught on. Or at least so the editing would lead us to believe.
You also have to remember that he seems to know the game well, and so is probably doing a lot to get camera time. I don't think it's entirely an accident that most of the show titles are coming from things Russell says. He puts on an act for the players and I think he puts one on for the cameras too.

Anybody who has listened to Jeff Foxworthy almost certainly knows most of them. You could have made the same point about 14 year old cousins marrying as a southern stereotype.
(By the by, I once met a lady at a Mormon Family History Center who said she couldn't use their software because her grandparents came from a small town in Holland where inter-marriage was rampant. Let's just say she had significantly less than 16 great great grandparents and her family tree caused the Mormon software to crash!)

I'm not a him. If I was a man maybe Russell wouldn't bug me as bad as he does. A lot of guys seem to enjoy the way he plays the game. Most women that think he is playing the game well, don't like him as a person. Wonder why?

Sorry to disappoint you Your Crassness, but no... I was never sexually abused as I child or as an adult. "Jokes" are supposed to be funny and anyone that thinks it's comical that this man would or could take advantage of a young girl like his daughter in a sexual way has bigger problems than Russell does. True. Not everything is an ABSOLUTE. (drink up, Shriners)

I know you didn't see me try to nominate Russell for father of the year, did you? There is a reason that I don't like that guy and the main reason is because of the way that arrogamnt, short, bald, stumpy guy tries to make himself feel and look like some big man by putting women down. No doubt that he has pent up hostility towards women because he felt looked down upon by them for years. Like that could be helped, he's short! lol And obnoxious!
None of what you posted has a damn thing to do with criminal act against a child though. I didn't know you are from an area where it is accepted and common practice for a 14 year old girl to marry an adult man. Maybe that is why you don't see a huge difference in some middle aged man making a comment as if he could lure some legal age adult babe of 22 years old with candy or the same guy saying that to a girl age 10, 12 or 14. Blamed the idiot parents that are giving their consent for those 14 year old girls to marry so young. Don't use that or anything else as an excuse to pretend that it's all in fun to make remarks about any adult taking sexual advantage of any child. Kids deserve better even if you don't feel the adults do, wouldn't you agree?
And I'm confused. I didn't respond to your email here. I replied to what you posted when someone else seemed to have a problem with your comment relating to child molestation. And I did reply because your remarks here had a whole different attitude than what you said in email. I'm not going to post your email, I have no need to post it. If you want it posted for some reason than you post it.
As far as me not replying to your email, I never intended to. I don't know you or anything about you. I don't even know if you are a man or a woman but if I had to take a guess, I would say man. Regardless, appreciating what you said in email and seeing that you can be a bigger person than me (because you had ignored my returned sarcasm to you about glances and eyesight) doesn't mean I owed you a reply. For me it meant that I would be opened to look past any more of your sarcasm directed towards me to an extent, and not form any concrete opinion based on first impressions. It's nothing personal, I don't normally exchange emails with people I don't know. If I don't know the sender, they get deleted. The only reason that I even opened your email is because I couldn't post for some reason, the code wasn't being accepted. So I checked my email to see if something was sent to me about being locked out for some reason. So really, no need to take my "silence" personal. I didn't take it personally that you didn't reply to my apology posted. You don't know me either therefore owe me nothing.
Oh yeah, I almost forget... that "agenda". That was completed in my very first post here. Does that mean that I can't stick around and join in on the discussions if something catches my interest? The public forum that I post on is pretty dead, even if it isn't limited to one topic. I'm opinionated, enjoy discussions and debates. Since this place has a little more going on, agenda #2 was to stay for a while and jump right in with my 2 cents when so inspired.
Any more questions, ask away if it doesn't bother you to do so in a public forum. I have nothing to hide really. One thing I will not do is give out my last name, address or phone number to random strangers in some public forum on the internet. I'm protective of my family that way.

I have a sneaky feeling that he calls 20-something babes dumb lots especially if they are too stupid to immediately see his greatness. Most smart 20-something women aren't so easily impressed by some short, stumpy, bald, 30-something man with a missing tooth that is out to convince them that he runs the show and/or controls everything in or about his life. I can only imagine that he has been rejected, probably even laughed at, by those same type of women numerous times in his life. Any women that don't appreciate his Heininess must be plain stupid! His overinflated imagine of himself is his way of overcompensating for his "shortcomings". He will be seen as a man of great stature one way or another, even if only in his own little mind. :-)

lol You mean like getting mad and a bit hostile if anyone dares to make harmless, practical suggestions that would make it easier for EVERYONE to keep track of some chip / trivia game? You are right, some people really should relax and not get so uptight about such inconsequential stuff. In the bigger scheme of life, there are far more important issues that should evoke anger and justifiably so. :-)

Nope, can't say that I was ever into redneck jokes. I liked watching the show Reba a whole lot, does that count?
I have watched Foxworthy before, probably never sat and watched a whole show but I thought that blue collar humor was more about making fun of the way rednecks talk, dimwitted people, jokes about the wives, and in-laws, junk around the property and yes--- even incest. Didn't know those "jokes", if that is what you must call them, include young minor children with older men though. What two consenting adults do, even if related, is not the same as an adult sexual predator violating of minor children.
I'm kind of surprised to know that Foxworthy takes his jokes there actually. I guess that is part of the problem why some states still do not enforce much stricter penalties on those found guilty of sexual misconduct with a minor child. Too many people see it as a joke, not such a big deal, not such a grievous act. I guess you are telling me that is a part of a normal lifestyle in areas of our country even today. And that is sad. I thought that we had laws in place now to protect our children because it was finally realized that minors can be more easily influenced and manipulated by adults beings that their brains are not fully developed and will make foolish choices. Even if a 13/14 year old pursued a sexual relationship with an adult, it is still a crime. The adults are the ones that should know better and are fully aware that is a crime regardless. But with the attitudes out there these offenders will continue to get a slap on the hand and be back out on the streets to offend again. Someday maybe that will change.
For the record and it's something that I have had more exposure to over these redneck jokes... were tons of jokes floating around about Michael Jackson over the years. I may have gotten a chuckle or two about the jokes that had to do with his nose, skin color, hair catching on fire, etc--- but I never found any of the jokes relating to him abusing boys funny. For me (and that will never change) I feel it is a complete disregard to all children that are victims of sexual abuse to think there is anything funny about that. Those type of jokes hit the victims way harder than Michael Jackson or any other adult because our children do deserve to be shown care and concern, to be protected. Not make fun of the tragedies that they have endured at the hands of some sick adult. I have a lot more respect for kids to ever think it is a joking matter.
I love the fact that you join in the forum...and say whatever you wish.
You DID respond in a post by saying that you sent an e-mail to some people by mistake...and you didn't want to bother anyone, and it wouldn't happen again.
No problem for me.
I really didn't give this thing much thought.
It was if Foxworthy or other comics...showed a picture ot a stereotypical hillbilly...and said...
'that female on his left is his DAUGHTER...not his wife.'
Big laugh...but they, TOO, dismiss the very serious problem of pedophilia.
I'm against it (what a politician I am)...but it's a pretty typical hillbilly joke.
In fact...please stay...and I'll find you a beauty.
Something like Foxworthy saying...'his mother is also his sister...but theyze from the souf'...so it's common'.
Don't drag it on.
Ask whatever you wish...and I'll be more than glad to respond.
Comedic stereotypes are by nature...in poor taste.
